Masterbatches for electro mobility

Innovative masterbatches set new standards
in the coloring of engineering plastics

Electromobility has long been more than just a trend; it has become a crucial building block for a sustainable future in the transport sector. To further increase the performance and efficiency of these vehicles, continuous innovations in manufacturing are essential. In this context, DEIFEL color masterbatches also play a crucial role by making the coloring of polymers such as PBT, PA6, PA12, PPA flexible and sustainable.

Color masterbatches not only fulfill aesthetic requirements, but must also meet technical requirements as well as be an indicator for important functions, such as the identification of high-voltage lines and components in electric vehicles.

Avoiding confusion: For electric mobility, RAL 2003 is now set as the standard signal color. Orange is a conspicuous color that is easy to distinguish from other components in the engine compartment. Electric vehicles have different electrical systems, including low and high voltage systems. The use of Orange RAL 2003 for high voltage components helps avoid confusion between different types of cables. This is also particularly important for first responders and firefighters in the event of an accident to immediately identify which parts of the vehicle could carry high voltage to avoid putting themselves in danger.

Precise color matching: By using color masterbatches, processors have a high degree of flexibility to respond to the wide variety of technical polymers available on the market. This is of great importance, since the desired color shades have to be implemented in a wide variety of polymers.

The example of the RAL 2003 color demonstrates the complexity of color development.
